Ron Simon

Head Curator of the Paley Center for Media, where he has worked  since the early 1980s.   He has also been an adjunct associate professor at Columbia University and New York University, where he taught courses on the history of media. Simon has written for many publications, including The Encyclopedia of Television, The Encyclopedia of Radio, and Thinking Outside of the Box, as well as serving as host and creative consultant of the DVD Total Television. Among the numerous exhibitions he has curated are The Television of Dennis Potter; Witness to History; Jack Benny: The Television and Radio Work; and Worlds Without End: The Art and History of the Soap Opera.  Simon has lectured at museums and educational institutions throughout the world, receiving the Chevalier de l’ordre des arts et des letters from the French Cultural Services. He is a former chair of the George Foster Peabody Awards committee and was a member of the editorial board of Television Quarterly for many years.  Simon co-produced with his late brother Kirk the documentary Pulitzer at 100, a film about the history and impact of the Pulitzer Prizes.
