Karen Arikian
Karen founded her independent consulting company in 2012, with offices in New York and Germany, to create and execute international film and media events. In addition to her role as Artistic Director at Hamptons Doc Fest and member of its Advisory Board since 2013, she is currently Program Director at the newly launched Green Visions Environmental Festival in Potsdam Germany; Program Advisor for EFM Startups in Berlin; US Scout for the Munich Film Festival and North American Advisor for European Film Promotion. Prior to setting up her own company, Karen was the long time US Delegate/East Coast rep for the Berlin International Film Festival and member of the festival’s Competition selection committee; Executive Director of the Hamptons International Film Festival; Co-Director of the European Film Market in Berlin; Project Lead for BAFTA’s Brits To Watch initiative; Producer for Time Film (Berlin and New York); Associate Producer for Bruce Weber’s Little Bear Films and Executive Director of the Independent Feature Project. She taught at the Hamburg Media School for several years and held workshops for international students at NYU Berlin. In addition to a degree in Psychology, Karen studied documentary film at the Academy of Film and Television in Munich, Germany, and is an active volunteer and contributor to the Chromosome 18 Research Foundation.
